Pressure Bursts Analysis
Getting your pressure management targeting right
We strongly recommend monitoring for pressure transients before considering any of these services.
Existing Pressure Managed Zones
Rapid analysis of existing pressure data
Analysis of where further pressure reductions could be made, using WLR&A ANPER software. Considers AZP, IP, CP and Minimum Standard of Service Pressures, with seasonal adjustment.
Proposed Pressure Managed Zones
1
Triage — rank zones by pressure-dependent bursts
- Splits bursts data into pressure-dependent and non-pressure-dependent, separately for mains and services in each proposed zone
- Produces a prioritised list of the zones that would benefit most from pressure management
2
Predicting reductions in bursts
- Predicts reductions in numbers of bursts, based on a defined reduction of pressure, separately for mains and services
- Based on analysis of several years of bursts data
3
Extension to asset life
- Identifies zones where reduced pressure could extend the asset life of mains or services
- Predicts NPV reduction from deferred mains or services renewal over 1, 2, 3+ years
4
Longevity of benefits
- Assesses and tracks how many years the predicted benefits last
- Compares bursts data in pressure-managed zones/DMAs to a control group without pressure management
